Stroll through the prettiest town square around.

Often touted as the “most beautiful town square in Texas”, Georgetown’s central square certainly lives up to the hype: lined with Victorian-era buildings and dominated in the center by the impressive Williamson County Courthouse, you can enjoy many of the best things to do in Georgetown without straying far from this beautiful spot!

Tour the historic Williamson County Courthouse.

Built in 1909, the gorgeous Williamson County Courthouse is perhaps best known for being the site of what was considered the first prosecutorial success in Texas against members of the KKK in 1923.

Today, visitors can tour the courthouse through tours run by the Williamson Museum.

Go for a swim in Georgetown’s Blue Hole.

While Wimberley’s Blue Hole may be a bit better known in central Texas, Georgetown’s version definitely deserves a visit: located along the San Gabriel River, this beautiful swimming hole is just a 5-minute drive from the town square and is one of the best places to visit in Georgetown.

In addition to the swimming hole itself, there are also trails, picnic areas, and restrooms on-site.

Grab a glass of wine.

Several beloved Texas wineries, including Grape Creek, Barons Creek, and the city’s own Georgetown Winery, have tasting rooms right in the center of Georgetown. You don’t have to drive all the way out to the countryside to enjoy delicious Texas wine!
