Love Creek Orchards, Medina
What began as an experimental apple orchard in 1981, has transformed into a pick-your-own orchard, an apple store, and a patio cafe.
The orchard has pick-your-own apples, blackberries, peaches, and figs.
Picking season will vary, but it usually begins with blackberries in April, peaches in June and July, and apples and figs in July and August.
On top of all the goodies you can pick, they also host an annual pumpkin patch with an apple eating contest and fresh-pressed apple cider.
If you make it out to the orchard, you will have to stop by the store for a treat or the cafe for lunch, because half a mile from the orchard they have their very own apple store and patio cafe.
The Apple Store is famous for a variety of apple goodies; apple pie, strudels, turnovers, jams, and even apple ice cream!

Sonlight Apple Orchard, Mason
For some of the best apples in Texas, you have to visit the Sonlight Apple Orchard in Mason.
They are a pick-your-own Texas apple orchard that has been in operation since 1984.
They even claim to grow the sweetest apples in the U.S. with their apples having 14% more sugar than other apples grown in the country, and 41% more sugar than apples purchased in a grocery store.
At the orchard, you can see The Apple Barn, which is a historic rock barn built in the 1860s.
Across from the orchard, they even have their very own Apple Cottage Bed and Breakfast located in a historic building dating back to 1877.
There is a lot of history, and of course apples at the Sonlight Apple Orchard that you will not want to miss.
The Greer Farm, Daingerfield
The Greer Farm in Daingerfield is a diverse local farm, so if you are looking for more than just apples, this is the place for you.
Their fruit orchards grow blackberries, blueberries, figs, plums, pears, and, of course, Texas apples.
They also raise herbs, vegetables, hay, flowers, pine timer, full blood red and white Maine-Anjou beef cattle, Dorper sheep, heritage pigs, sheep, and chickens.
At the farm, you can purchase their healthy packaged meats, honey, jams, eggs, and produce.
Private cooking classes or private dining are also available. You can also rent one of their cabins located on an 11-acre pond.
Apple Valley Orchard, Llano
Their harvest dates are usually between July through October.
They have a variety of apples, blackberries, peaches, persimmons, figs, and plums.
The orchard is not a pick-your-own apple orchard but does allow for picking on special occasions, so make sure to check before you go if picking is what you are after.
They do have a storefront though where you can purchase apples, ice cream, homemade jams, pies, apple cider, and numerous other items.
They also have honeybees to ensure adequate pollination and have honey for sale in the store.
All the fresh produce and homemade goodies will certainly be worth the trip.
Efurd Orchard, Pittsburg
What began as a small operation in 1972, Efurd Orchard has become a national operation that produces a variety of high-quality fruits and vegetables.
The orchard is located just south of Pittsburg in East Texas.
Depending on when you visit, you can find apples, plums, pumpkins, peaches, sweet potatoes, blackberries, and blueberries.
They also have a large store that will feel like you are stepping back in time.
Inside is loaded with lots of goodies, produce, and homemade ice cream.
Apple Country Orchard, Idalou
Treat yourself to an apple from Apple Country Orchard located east of Idalou.
As a certified organic apple orchard in Texas, each year they strive to grow some of the best apples, as well as peaches and cherries.
When visiting the orchard you can choose to pick apples from their trees or purchase them from their Apple Country Store.
Visitors will also find a unique gift shop, a bakery, and a country café.
They have freshly baked items that are made using apples from the orchard; their most famous is their German apple cake.
They also have an Annual Apple Butter Festival that showcases apple slingshots, caramel apples, apple cider, apple bobbing, apple pie, live music, hayrides, and BBQ.
